How to install FortiClient on Ubuntu ?

1- First of all, you can download to client software from here. However, you need a VALID Fortinet Support Contract for a FortiGate Device in order to download the Linux Version of FortiClient.

Select on ‘Download’ tab, then ‘Firmware Images’. On the next page, click on ‘Download’ tab. Select the firmware version of your FortiGate and you will find FortiClient SSLVPN for linux under VPN > SSLVPNTools folder (the name of the file has the following format: fortinclientsslvpn_linux_<version>.tar.gz). If you can’t find software underneath the firmware version of your Fortigate, you can select the most close version.

 

2-Via Linux Terminal, go to the folder where the file has been downloaded and extract it with:

tar –xvzf forticlientsslvpn_linux<version>.tar.gz

 

3-Now you can run FortiClient where in the forticlient folder:

./fortisslvpn.sh

 

4-You will see first run and licence messages because of your first install. Click on first OK, then agree to continue.

 

 

5-Now, FortiClient is ready for vpn connection.
